Catherine is the diva shoe to die for! A huge solid Swarovsky encrusted jewelry t-strap draws all the attention. Each shoe has hundreds of small Swarovsky rhinestones surrounding 3 large stones. The rhinestone piece starts at the toe of the shoe and fastens behind the ankle. This is the most spectacular shoe of the 2006 prom season. None of the celebrities have discovered this new Alisha Hill shoe yet, but they surely will. This jeweled shoe is available in silver and gold in sizes 5 to 12.

The Allie shoe, Alisha Hill shoe # S058 is named for Alisha's friend, Miss Teen USA Allie Leforce. A May Ball is traditionally a formal affair. One of the most important elements of preparation for women is the purchase of a gown and complementary attire for her date.  Women will typically arrive in an evening dress while men are expected to put on something equally formal.

Other high-class May balls that deserve a mention include balls held by Clare in the beautiful gardens of Cambridge and St. Johns'.  Time magazine has voted the St John's ball the 7th greatest party in the world.

Oxford has an equivalent of the May Ball and is known as the "Commem" due to the fact that it is held in the 9th week of the Trinity term.

Peterhouse and Magdalene hold biannual white tie balls, most recently 2005-Magdalene 2006-Peterhouse. Both balls are known for having strict dresses codes and an extremely lavish event.

Jovani,  probably the most influential line in the prom industry, has come up with some of this years top hits. Designer Sherri Hill focused on old Hollywood glamour for many of  the gowns in the collection.  Key elements in  Jovani's prom 2006 selection are silk satin, sparkling tulle, lace, designer prints, and unusual beaded details. One of the other top Jovani 2006 prom styles is # 10434. Cinderella only wished she had a gown this georgeous! Layers of light blue and sparkling metallic gold tulle are accented with several mixed shades of soft metallic gold and light blue sequins. The gold boning corset lines are not only pretty, but give a very flattering fit.  Color combinations in this gown are  light blue//gold, fuchsia/gold, ivory/gold, and black/gold.

Who is the ultimate prom queen? Is she Kate Hudson, the girl who made the How to Lose a Guy dress a top selling prom gown of all time, or is she Beyonce’, who wears some of the best gowns on the red carpet? It seems that these two women are the celebrities of choice for top prom queen status.

Kate Hudson has scored big again with the chocolate brown strapless silk satin and chiffon gown seen recently on the red carpet, then successfully re created by Jovani prom. The rich chocolate brown color is a surprise hit for the 2006 prom season.

Beyonce fights back with the spectacular silk satin gown she wore to the Grammys. Niteline did a version in silk satin with gold beaded straps that is even better than the original Beyonce’. Hers was black with gold beaded straps, but Niteline also cut it in orange, turquoise, and lilac. This gown is one of the hottest of the season and is great with the gold Beyonce’ shoe by Alisha Hill.
