Prom Dress Flowers

Since most of us only go to prom once or twice in your lifetime we don't always keep up to date with prom trends. What has changed over the years? If you didn't attend prom last year; how will you be aware of what is different this year? Yes, it's easy to see how your prom is going to be different from your mother's prom, but it's the little touches that make each year better than the last. So what is something different that you can do this year? How about flowers. Now teens are wearing corsages not only on their wrists or pinned near their dresses, but they are pinning them almost everywhere else too!

This year you might want to try a hip/waist corsage or a floral armband. They now make prom arrangements for your shoulder, head, feet, fingers, and even for your back too! If you are really bold you could even try the new floral tattoo! That's right I said tatoo! It is made of real flowers, so of course it's not permanent. Don't ask me how they do it. You'll have to speak to your florist about that one. My personal favorite is the choker corsage.

I think it's always best to pick a simple engagement (usually only choosing between one and three different flowers). Also try to avoid bundling a large quantity of the flowers you choose. You don't want to look like an entire bouquet is growing out of your body. Another tip is to remember to order (or better yet, have your date order) your corsage several weeks ahead of time. As if prom season alone wouldn't keep florists busy enough; it is also the prime time for weddings and Mother's Day falls then too. Also Girls, since you are reading this to relay to your fella; don't forget that you are in charge of ordering the boutonniere. Both of you should pick ribbons and flowers that coordinate with your dress. Pick up the flowers a day or two before your prom and store them in the refrigerator to keep them fresh.

Golden Prom Dresses

Gold prom dresses are the hottest thing going for prom 2007 if you are lucky enough to find one.
Tiza is one of the few prom resources with this glam gold look in stock for immediate delivery. Some of our favorites for prom 2007 follow:
Jovani prom dress 11790275 is the ultimate in glamor. Gold lame' fabric is shirred and draped on the body; in a strapless, sexy body-hugging style worthy of any red carpet event. The flowing gold skirt is cut slightly shorter in front for dancing, but the real bonus is it shows off your pretty gold Alisha Hill shoes.

Shimmery, glimmery Jovani prom dress 10616220 looks like molten gold. Tiny gold sequins accent the gold lace bodice and cover the fitted body of this silky gold satin prom dress. The skirt is slit and flows into a beautiful sweep train. We love Alisha Hill prom shoes  with this elegant prom gown. See the beautiful collection of gold prom shoes on the Tiza prom website.

Prom dress 8922175 is the most fun of all the gold dresses. This flirty little metallic lame' mini dress is available in electric blue, pink, silver and hottest of all, gold. You are sure to be the hit of the prom in this shimmery mini with your rhinestone encrusted gold shoes from Alisha Hill.

Jovani prom dress 10627179 combines two hot red carpet trends silk satin and gold liquid beading. Rich gold bugle beads completely cover the wide crossed straps of this sexy lo back prom gown. The flowing silky satin skirt features a high front slit, the better to show off your gold Alisha Hill shoes.

Beyonce' Knowles red carpet gowns have been a strong influence on prom fashion for the past couple of years, but this year the characters in her latest movie, Dream Girls, may have the biggest impact of all.
The bigger-than-life music and glitzy 60's inspired wardrobing in the movie have inspired a certain fashion vibe that goes beyond a single dress. Girls are relating to the retro feel, especially the glittering sequin looks worn by the dream girls. All-over sequin dresses, minis and hourglass mermaid dresses all trace their sudden popularity to the 60's era the Dream Girls movie romanticizes.

How much fun it will be to light up the dance floor in  glam-girl sequins!  Floor length, these sequinned gowns usually fit like a shimmering second skin and often feature a sexy low backs and front slits.(See our style # b2985150 The short mini dresses show lots of leg and are usually gold, silver, or sparkling pastel colors.  Look for 60's inspired choker collars, keyhole necklines, and slightly flared skirts cut several inches above the knees. (see the prom section of our Tiza site for styles 8922175, b2976135 and b2977135)  Follow the Dream Girls lead with glamourous hair styles and sexy spike heeled shoes. (see our Alisha Hill collection.)

There is an interesting fashion bonus the Dream Girls movie should bring to the attention of prom girls everywhere. Jennifer Hudson proved, when she strutted her stuff as Effie, that a heavier girl can hold her own and sometimes steal the show from any of her slimmer sisters. Jennifer didn't hesitate to jump out there beside Beyonce' and grab her piece of the dream.

Nu-bra, Freedom bra, gel bra, and sticky-bra are brands and terms to describe the best invention in inner wear since we ditched the corset as an undergarment 100 years ago.
Light weight silicone gel bra cups are coated inside with a sticky substance that adheres to the body during wear, yet easily peels off to be stored and worn again and again. the sticky substance is restored to its original state by rinsing with water after each wearing and storing in the plastic form provided by the manufacturer.
This amazing bra is perfect for backless, strapless, sheer or bare style prom dresses that don't allow traditional bras. Many girls buy the bra for prom, then wear it again all summer under tank tops and sun dresses. These special bras come in cup sizes A, B, and C. There is an optional front clasp that can be hooked to create cleavage.

Dress a little tighter in the hips than you like? do you need a little smoothing out in the hip and stomach areas? Maybe Spanx will be the solution. Lycra spandex and nylon are combined to create a waist to thigh slimming panty to wear under your skinniest clothes. Let Spanx smooth the way to a sleeker look.

Celebrity prom dresses, so popular for the past few years, have not lost their mojo.Girls often look to the movie stars for direction in every faze of fashion, especially the fabulous dresses, shoes and even make-up and hair styles worn on the  red carpet. Understandably, these stars know how to make the most of their individual looks and even have personal stylists to assist in their selections. Some looks achieve such notice that the dress elevates the star to a much higher level. Beyonce', Kate Hudson and Charlize Theron are examples of stars' images benefiting greatly from their appearance on the red carpet or from dresses they wore while performing.

Today's high school girls are more sophisticated and knowledgeable in their fashion selections than ever before. There was a time that girls would choose a dress for the big night just because a certain celebrity had been seen in it. No more...today's prom shoppers are more savvy about style, cut, and what works for them as individuals. They watch the celebrities, then interpret the looks and make them their own.. Sure it is cool to have the same gown as a favorite celebrity, but the most important girl to be looking good in  your prom dress is you. Most girls take the celebrity dress, then individualize it  with accessories, makeup and hair style appropriate for their own special look.

This year's prom will see a wider than usual variety of styles, reflecting the trend toward individuality seen on the red carpet and on young girls across America.
Soft tulle ballgowns, elegant silk satins, glitzy sequins, funky prints, metallics and sexy matte jerseys are all looks that will be big at every prom. So far for prom 2007 the strongest trend among the various prom looks is silk satin. Often cut in back-baring strappy styles, the shimmering silk skims lightly over the body and flows beautifully as you walk. Silk satin not only feels good, it looks amazing because it dyes so well and maintains it's lustrous finish.
Running a close second to silk satin gowns for prom 2007 are metallics, especially anything gold. Jovani and Tehrani both jumped on this trend quickly with lame' dresses in metallic gold, silver, blue and pink. They cut lame' in both long and cocktail prom dresses and they are all winners. Imagine the wow factor of making an entrance in metalic gold when most everyone else is wearing pastel or black. Add the gold rhinestone trim shoes by Alisha Hill for the finishing touch. That is a look worthy of any red carpet star.
