Taylor Swift Donates $500,000 For Nashville Flood Relief

Country starlet Taylor Swift has just pledged a very generous $500,000 donation to the Nashville flood relief effort. The flood, which killed 30 people in three states (including 20 in Tennessee), ravaged the area and caused an estimated $1 billion in repair and cleanup costs. 
 
"Being at home during the storm, I honestly could not believe what was happening to the city and the people I love so dearly," Swift told The Associated Press in an e-mail. "Nashville is my home, and the reason why I get to do what I love. I have always been proud to be a Nashvillian, but especially now, seeing the love that runs through this city when there are people in crisis." 
 
Swift made the decision public on the Thursday night telethon, "Flood Relief with Vince Gill and Friends," which was hosted by local station WSMV.
