Looking for a great pair of sandals to get you through the summer? The New York Times has put together a rather strange but helpful video, detailing the summer's styles. Apparently this summer's styles -- cork heels and gladiator-inspired straps -- are inspired by Greeks, Romans, and Gods. Check out the video here -- and let us know which styles you're into!  Of course, while the industry is concerned with the album's potential as a record-breaking money-maker, most everyone else is just ... excited to hear the new album. Word on the street is there's a marriage scene in one of her upcoming videos. The country singer certainly is growing up fast! Are you guys excited for the new record?
 Taylor Momsen, formerly the sweet-faced blonde of Gossip Girl, has long since shed her innocent little-sister look: These days, the 16-year-old starlet can frequently be seen stalking the street in six-inch heels, chain-smoking, and performing with her band, The Pretty Restless. But while Momsen's career trajectory may not be totally mom-approved, the fashion industry appears to like it just fine: In addition to posing for Madonna's Material Girl ad campaign earlier this year, Momsen was recently named the face of John Galliano's new fragrance, which will debut later this year. How do you guys feel about Taylor Momsen? Do you embrace her new rock-n-roll wild-child persona, or do you miss her GG days, when a pink headband and a seat at the top of the Met stairs was enough to keep her inspired?

This weekend, AMC will debut the season four premiere of their hallmark show, Mad Men. It's a show about an advertising agency in the early 1960s, but in addition to some great writing, the show has provided some great 60s-reminiscent sartorial inspiration. Especially for women.
The show is styled by Katherine Jane Bryant (who, incidentally, is coming out with a line of her own), and since the show provides such a rich cast of female characters for her to dress, there's also a great variety of style among the (super awesome) women. First, there's the intrepid, take-no-prisoners Peggy Olson.  I would like this dress, please. Then, we have Joan Holloway -- office siren: smart, sassy, savvy, and gorgeous.  Betty Draper isn't necessarily someone I'd want for a mom -- but I have nothing against her Grace Kelly-esque wardrobe.  And then, of course, there's Don Draper.  The only element of this picture that I don't condone is the cigarette.Will you be watching Mad Men this Sunday?
 "All people will be anticipating how will Charice look?" she said. "Is she good enough to pit against Rachel Berry? So of course there is tremendous pressure." The teenage singer subsequently underwent a 30-minute Thermage skin-tightening procedure -- plus Botox -- to slim down her "naturally round face." What do you guys think?  So far, the details are scant, but the project, tentatively called Mommy & Me, would be a mother-daughter comedy. It strikes me that Fey might be a little bit old to be calling Streep mommy? But I won't complain -- I'm excited about seeing this team of funny ladies team up! What do you guys think?
 It was only a few years ago that Carrie Prejean made a name for herself by using her Miss USA platform to oppose gay rights. But this year, Claire Buffie -- the 24-year-old Miss New York -- is doing just the opposite: She's competing on a gay rights platform. "My platform is 'Straight for Equality: Let's Talk,'" said Buffie, in a recent interview. "I feel that it's really important to promote equality for all people, "all" being the main word. As a straight ally, I think it's so necessary to have that straight allies' support for the LGBT community. My platform is politically driven in that I think we need political reform for gay rights, but I've really taken it down to organizations like PFLAG where I have the opportunity for personal mentorship." Duffie also emphasized the importance of breaking through stigmas and undoing stereotypes about all groups of people -- including women who compete in pageants. "Even upon entering my first local for the Miss America organization four years go, I had some of those stereotypes that are very common -- the hairspray, the eyelashes, the glue and the tape, and all those things," she said. "What I found was a group of incredibly intelligent, driven, and service-minded women. I have found my absolute best friends through this organization." We'll keep an eye out for Miss Buffie as she heads to the main Miss USA event! Recently, a study was released detailing the great American obsession with Facebook. So it's no surprise that everyone's talking about The Social Network -- the upcoming David Fincher-directed film about Facebook creator Mark Zuckerberg, the man behind the network, and the story of how it all came to be. Another reason everyone's talking about it? Zuckerberg does not come off so well.... Check it out: What do you guys think? Are you excited to see the movie this fall? According to the article, there are approximately 400 pageants in Colombia every year -- and they've been known to shut down entire towns. Local violence -- an unfortunate mainstay in certain regions throughout the nation -- decreases significantly in weeks leading up to a pageant. "There's still bombs going off," according to Carl Bower, who spent the last 15 years photographing the Colombian pageant circuit, and whose photographic book project, "Chica Barbi," was a finalist for the New York Photo Festival Book Award this year. "People are still being kidnapped. But they still pack the plazas and they still line up for 10 miles of a parade route to see these queens go by." PETA's "Kind Choices Award" was bequeathed unto Greene for her compassionate decision to represent Avon, which led the cosmetics industry by ending all tests on animals and is widely recognized for its commitment to a cruelty-free testing policy." Greene was also cited for being a role model to millions of young Twilight fans: PETA's Vice President of Laboratory Investigations, Kathy Guillermo, said that Greene's decision to support makeup companies that don't use animal testing is "encouraging millions of Twilight fans and other young people to choose makeup that's fun, not fatal." Congrats to the young Twilight star for choosing to be a good example to her fans.

Toy Story 3 Think you're too old for Toy Story 3? You are wrong! This film has been almost universally lauded by critics of all ages. The New York Times described it as "a long, melancholy meditation on loss, impermanence and that noble, stubborn, foolish thing called love." Totally not just for kids. Check it out before the summer's over. Eclipse This one needs no introduction, I think. Eat Pray Love You'll have to wait for August for this one -- a tale of a woman who goes all over the world to find herself in the wake of a painful divorce -- but that just gives you more time to read the book first!! Let us know what your favorite movies are this summer! Fakih, who studied business and economics at the University of Michigan, talked about the the ability of education to empower. "Education was my secret weapon," said Fakih, who plans to go to law school, at the ceremony. "Anyone who is rich can lose money. You can never lose a degree." Congratulations, Rima!
Inception appears to be this summer's Most Respectable Blockbuster: It stars actors who always make the right choices -- Leo DiCaprio, Marion Cotillard, Ellen Page, Michael Caine, Joseph Gordon-Levitt -- has a plot that is simultaneously confusing, intriguing, and action-packed, and just generally looks totally awesome. So naturally, it comes as no surprise that the cast was equally-impeccable at the movie's London premiere. Check out a few of our favorite get-ups, below.
Ellen Page  Understated, but interesting and even a tiny bit elegant. Lovely! Marion Cotillard  Could anyone else in the universe pull off this dress? Doubtful -- but on her, it looks great! Cillian Murphy  This is what a suit should look like. Peaches Geldof  The girl could maybe use a shower, but the dress is just fine! Pixie Geldof  Babydoll dress meets biker jacket meets dainty gold jewelry. She pulls it off -- even if just barely. The only misstep of the night was ... Joseph Gordon-Levitt  Eesh. Maybe just a tiny bit too much?  The cartoon legend, once known for donning an outfit so skimpy it would make a string bikini blush, will debut her new, gothier look in issue 600 of the Super Woman comic book. Writer J. Michael Straczynski explained the costume change in an article for the New York Times: "She's been locked into pretty much the exact same outfit since her debut in 1941," Straczynski said. "If you're going to make a statement about bringing Wonder Woman into the 21st century, you need to be bold and you need to make it visual. I wanted to toughen her up, and give her a modern sensibility. "What woman only wears only one outfit for 60-plus years?" Not a bad point! What do you guys think of the new look?
This week, amid insane amounts of Twilight-inspired craziness, Warner Brothers released the trailer for the first part of the upcoming Harry Potter movie: Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, the last book in the series which will, like Twilight, be broken up into two films for dramatic effect. And the trailer is pretty awesome. It almost makes you forget all about Eclipse for a moment. (Um, just kidding!) Speaking of which, what did you guys think of the movie?

She also expounds on her love for 80s garb -- which, incidentally, is the theme of her mom's new collection: "I am totally obsessivo about 80's shorts... You know the kind that makes your butt look kinda big, with a grunge-looking shirt tucked in. It's kinda nerdy but I love it. And the 80's are another huge obsession of mine, which is totally amazingly awesome because Material Girl...HELLO! It's like 80's themed, which pretty much rocks, so yeah. I'm still in love with brogues or as some people call them "oxford shoes". I haven't found a good sandal so I'm on like a search right now." What do you think?
