Sherri Hill 3021.jpgHappy Thanksgiving, friends!

We hope you had a relaxing holiday -- and that you relegated all (or at least most) of your Black Friday shopping to the internet. After all, Sherri Hill now has her 2011 collection up online -- and it's one of her best yet. Check out Sherri Hill's designs here and here

Happy shopping! And happy holidays!
alexa-chung.jpg
You may know Alexa Chung for her short-lived MTV series, It's On With Alexis Chung -- but now, in the aftermath of her MTV cancellation, the UK-born It Girl has a new television show on the radar: PBS's Thrift America, wherein she teaches Americans her secrets to thrift shopping success. Here's how the network describes it:

"On Thrift America, scheduled to be broadcast on PBS next summer ... Chung will comb the country's consignment shops, garage sales and flea markets for old clothing and other potential treasures to use in creative endeavors. A few of the places [she will] visit include Detroit, Nashville, and Brooklyn (and, on a less populist note, fashion capitals like Paris and London). Think of it as Antiques Roadshow meets the foodie romp Anthony Bourdain: No Reservations."

What do you think? Are you excited to learn where Alexa scavenges all her best finds? Or was MTV's decision to cancel her program a good one?

bieber.jpgHe may still be in high school (or at least, of high school age), but Justin Bieber has a message for young people: It gets better. The teenage pop star released an anti-bullying video this week (via Ellen TV) encouraging teens to change their mean-spirited ways. Check it out below. And let us know what you think!

1.jpgCongratulations to  Alyssa Campanella! The 20-year-old Hillsborough, CA native took home the crown at Miss California 2011 this week, beating out dozens of other girls to take over for Nicole Johnson, the state's outgoing title-holder.

Of course, we at Tiza are already familiar with the beautiful Ms. Campanella -- you can find her all over Tiza's (newly re-designed) website, showing off some of our favorite designs.

Check out Alyssa in some gorgeous Sherri Hill gowns below -- and check out our site to see more!

Congrats again to the new Miss California 2011!

Sherri Hill 2027.jpgHappy Thanksgiving from Tiza Prom Dresses!

This year, as every year, we're thankful for you -- our loyal friends and customers -- for supporting us in all of our endeavors.

Hope you all have a lovely and peaceful holiday with your friends and families.

Love,
Tiza
Some of our favorite musicians -- including Taylor Swift, Miley Cyrus, Katy Perry, and many more -- got all dressed up for tonight's American Music Awards, which are being held in Los Angeles. Check out some of our favorite looks so far -- and tell us what you think of Taylor Swift's newly-straightened locks.

Taylor Swift
taylor-swift-amas-red-carpet-2010.jpgLooking confident in a rock-n-roll mini. But the hair is different! What do you think?

Katy Perry
katy-perry-amas-red-carpet-2010.jpgGirly, flirty, and fun -- not unlike the singer herself.

Miley Cyrus
miley-cyrus-amas-2010-red-carpet.jpgI'm into this fun-but-refined ensemble.

Nicki Minaj
nicki-minaj-amas-red-carpet-2010.jpgSo far the craziest look of the night? What are your thoughts on her multi-colored hair?

Rihanna
rihanna-amas-red-carpet-2010.jpgRihanna's showing off her new hair -- but does it overwhelmed a little by the dress?

What do you think was the best performance of the night?

amd_hathaway.jpg
On SNL last night, Anne Hathaway reminded America  that a) she's funny! b) she's an amazing singer! and c) she does a pretty decent Katie Holmes impersonation.

The impersonation reared its head on the show's "Miley Cyrus Show," wherein first-year cast member Vanessa Bayer (who we love) does her own pretty fantastic take on the young country starlet, in the form of a fake talk show.

Hathaway turned up on the show as Katie Holmes, and after Cyrus points out that she was on Dawson's Creek "back in the 1900s!" she asks her a series of hard-hitting questions about Tom Cruise, Scientology, Jesus, and why her daughter, Suri, wears high heels. Hathaway responds in Holmes' trademark (if Dawson's Creek-era) tortured demeanor, complete with hair-twisting habit.

Check out the clip, below, and let us know how you feel about it:

Harry Potter Has $330 Million Weekend

This weekend, the first installation of the final Harry Potter movie -- Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, Part I -- opened all over the world. And a lot of people went to see it. $330 million dollars' worth of people, to be precise. It was, of course, the No. 1 movie in the U.S. this weekend, but, incidentally, it's only the second-best domestic showing for the Harry Potter series: Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire (the fourth movie in the series) did slightly better in the box office on opening weekend. (Of course, Thanksgiving is coming up -- and HP7 will probably turn out to be a favorite among movie-going families.)

Have you seen the film yet? Let us know your thoughts!

The UK's "X Factor" is to British pop culture what "American Idol" is to the American entertainment industry -- so it's no surprise that it's a pretty big deal for any young singer to make an appearance on the show.

It's also pretty significant when a Tiza dress makes a cameo on the reality television program - much like on this week's episode, in which pop star MAAD*MOISELLE wears a stunning Sherri Hill number during a performance of "Outrun the Sun" with Madcon.

The New Jersey-born electro-pop singer looked great in the piece.

Check out the performance -- and the dress -- below:

Finally! After eight years of dating, Kate Middleton and Prince William have announced their long-awaited (at least by the British press, if not by the couple itself) engagement.

Since the announcement this week, speculation has begun to swirl surrounding the details of the affair: Will the couple wed at Westminster Abbey? Will Kate take lessons in "being royal"?  But obviously what everyone really wants to know is what the bride-to-be will wear on her wedding day.

Middleton has already demonstrated an affinity for the brand Issa -- which she wore on the day the couple made public their engagement -- but we think she would look nice in a gorgeous Sherri Hill gown as well.  What do you think Kate will/should wear? And remember! Tiza gowns aren't just perfect for the red carpet and/or the prom -- they look lovely on brides as well. Check out Tiza designs (including those by the lovely Sherri Hill) right here.
487940.jpgAlexandria Mills, the first American to take the title of Miss World, might already be facing a Carrie Prejean-like scandal: Radar Online reports that there are some rather...unprofessional pictures of her making the internet circuits.

The Kentucky-born 18-year-old, who has signed with the modeling agency Elite, beat out 115 other girls for the crown last month in Sanya, China. But if things go the way they did for Prejean, she may not get to hold on to it for long.

What do you guys think? If the rumors are indeed true (and Radar says that the website has seen and verified the authenticity of the photos) should the young woman be castigated? Or is this stuff none of our business?
281x211.jpgTwo more big names have been added to the star-studded lineup of performers for this month's American Music Awards: Taylor Swift and Miley Cyrus.

The two young singers will join an impressive roster of talent: America's current teen heartthrob Justin Bieber will perform, along with Katy Perry, Ke$ha, Christina Aguilera, Pink, Usher, Ne-Yo, Diddy and many more. Justin Bieber, Katy Perry and Ke$ha - as well as Lady Gaga and Eminem - are all nominated for Artist of the Year.

The Bieber has said he was "extremely humbled and honored" to be asked to perform at the ceremony. "As a small-town kid from Canada, I never imagined that I would be nominated for AMAs, let alone be performing on the show," he said, as the Associated Press reports

Will you be watching the AMAs on November 21? Which performances are you excited for?
goodhousekeeping.jpgLooking for the perfect little black dress?

We've always told you where to find one -- right here, of course -- but the magazine Good Housekeeping has added its vote of approval to our corner. Check out this amazing Sherri Hill dress in the December issue of the mag.

The gorgeous Sherri Hill dress (pictured left) is the one on the far right.

You can buy that very dress right here

And don't forget to pick up a copy of the magazine on a newsstand near you!
underwood.jpgThis week's Country Music Awards were a major event for any in-the-know fan of country music -- and also Sherri Hill. In addition to Miranda Lambert, who wore not one but four Sherri Hill frocks at the awards show, another amazing country star touted the Sherri Hill name: Carrie Underwood.

The 27-year-old country sensation turned up at promo events for the 2010 Country Music Awards in two separate Sherri Hill minis: Sherri Hill styles number 2408 and 2410 - both of which are available to buy online.

(See her decked out in style 2408 at left.)

Underwood, of course, co-hosted the evening's festivities alongside Brad Paisley. Congrats to both for an awesome night!

Check out more Sherri Hill gowns here, and see Carrie's amazing looks for the night below:

lambert1.jpgLast night, country star Miranda Lambert broke out not one but four gorgeous Sherri Hill gowns at the annual Country Music Awards -- where she took home four awards!

Lambert, who was celebrating what turned out to be a memorable 27th birthday, was the night's big winner: She took home awards for Female Vocalist of the Year, as well as for best song, video, and the coveted album of the year award, for her 2009 record Revolution.

Lambert has been working her way up the ranks of the country music world for nearly a decade, but last night she cemented her status as the industry's rising star. Luckily, she was well-outfitted for the occasion.

Lambert turned out as many dresses as she did awards: the young country star partnered with designer Sherri Hill to create four custom frocks for the night -- ranging from a classic floor-length magenta gown (at left), to a festive white fringed number, to a short, corseted piece that embellished with chain metal fringe, to a nude crystal and beaded rock'n'roll mini.

Check out all of Lambert's stunning looks below!

Speaking of the EMAs -- apparently American pop stars wait for their European moments to bring out their most outrageous sartorial choices. (Or maybe it's just been a couple weeks since the last American music festival.) Check out a few of the best/worst/most insane from the red carpet:

Ke$ha:

kesha-2010-mtv-emas-red-carpet.jpgThis outfit is relatively tame compared to what Ke$ha broke out later on:
kesha-emas-performance-video.jpgBig time neon.

Rihanna:

Ri goes glam on the red carpet...
rihanna-2010-mtv-emas.jpgShe, too, breaks out the high-concept getup for her musical performance:
rihanna-emas-performance.jpgMiley Cyrus:
miley-cyrus-2010-mtv-emas-red-carpet.jpgCyrus breaks out the controversial bow-tied look.

Katy Perry:

What do you guys think?

gaga.jpgLady Gaga brought home three awards at tonight's European Music Awards (EMAs), taking home prizes for best female artist, best pop act and best song ("Bad Romance") at the ceremony in Madrid.

Gaga was in Budapest for a concert, so she accepted the three awards (in various outfits, naturally) via video.

"I wish so much that I could be there," Gaga said, before launching into a performance for the European crowd via webcam.

She and Katy Perry both went into the contest with five nominations. Perry won best video, for "California Gurls."

At this week's BAFTA Los Angeles 2010 Britannia Awards, Carey Mulligan reminded us that she can make any dress look amazing -- and Dakota Fanning demonstrated (once again) her timeless teenage propriety.

Check out some of our favorite looks below:

Carey Mulligan:
mulligan.jpgOn the rack, this dress might not stand out. On Carey Mulligan, obviously, it's stunning. Also love the shoes.

Dakota Fanning:
fanning.jpgFor a 16-year-old, Fanning demonstrates unsettling poise and good taste.

Rosario Dawson
dawson.jpgThis dress would look wretched on basically anyone else on the planet. That alone is worth some credit.

Olivia Wilde

Simple, classic, gorgeous. That's all.

kristen-stewart-and-zac-posen-fall-2010-rtw-strapless-floral-lurex-dress-gallery.jpgSure, it's technically a fictional wedding, and the betrothed couple is interspecies human-vampire, but nevertheless: Bella Swann (aka Kristen Stewart) and Edward Cullen (Robert Pattinson) are getting married. In a movie to be released, I think, sometime next year? Anyway, word on the street is that Zac Posen may be designing the wedding dress for the fictional bride.

When asked to confirm or deny, Posen was coy: "I can't. I don't speak about any of my projects and the reality of her non reality," he said, before adding: "You know I do love a wedding."

So... is it true? Do you want it to be true? (I, for one, think Sherri Hill would do a fine job with such an assignment.) Leave your thoughts in the comments...
Harry-Potter-and-the-Deathly-Hallows-Part-1-Close-Up-Poster-1-10-10-kc.jpg

It's almost Thanksgiving -- which means that it's nearly time for the first half of the seventh and final Harry Potter film installation. The Harry Potter Thanksgiving movie tradition is one that some of us (me) wish could go on indefinitely. And while that's not really a realistic option, luckily, there are two things in which to take solace: 1) J. K. Rowling might be working on something new, and 2) these last two movies promise to be pretty good.

Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 1 opens on November 19th. Check out the trailer below:

You can also check out a special behind-the-scenes look right here:

Are you going to see the new Harry Potter movie?
