Congratulations to Teresa Scanlan, the 17-year-old from Nebraska who last night was crowned Miss America! And she was crowned in this gorgeous Sherri Hill dress! (Check it out on the left.)
The Nebraskan was the youngest woman to win the Miss America contest since it made its debut ninety years ago -- but Scanlan already has big plans for the future. In an interview with the Associated Press, she said she plans to eventually go to law school and become a politician so that she could "stand up for what's right, stand up for integrity and honesty."
"At this point, attorneys and politicians are looked down on and have terrible reputations for being greedy and power hungry," Scanlan said. "I really think it's important for people who have their heart and mind in the right place get into those powerful positions."
