Being a part of a wedding is supposed to be an occasion to celebrate -- but all too often, little things get in the way of all the fun: being in the wedding party -- particularly as a bridesmaid -- involves a lot of planning, a lot of coordinating, and... a lot of shopping. There is the bachelorette party, the bridal shower, the champagne toasts and brunches and flower selection ceremonies -- and of course, there are the bridesmaid dresses.
We can't help you with too much of the other stuff, but we can tell you where to find an affordable -- and totally cute! -- dress for any bridesmaid. Avoid the trauma, cost, and general agony of selecting bridesmaid dresses by going straight to one source.
Check out some of our favorite dresses right here at Tiza.com! Hopefully it can help you make the experience of being a bridesmaid as fun as it should be. (Watch the above trailer for a hilarious lesson in disaster.)
At Perez Hilton's birthday party the other night, one of our favorite young celebrities -- the lovely Selena Gomez -- went all out in a full-on blue getup.
And we thought she looked amazing -- especially since she's wearing Sherri Hill!
As you know, we at Tiza love a good prom dress. (Duh.) But it makes us sad that, at some schools, young women are forced to wear dresses to the prom.
After all, what's the fun of expressing yourself through what you wear (something for which we are obviously strong advocates over here) if someone else is limiting what you can or can't say?
At Terrebonne Parish school in Louisiana, a young woman is being denied the right to wear what she chooses to the prom.
We say, let the girl wear what she feels best in! After all, everyone wants to look and feel great at the prom. And that can be kind of hard to do if someone's trying to tell you who to be and how to dress.
Recently, the internet went abuzz with the news that Jennifer Lawrence, the Oscar-nominated star of "Winter's Bone," appears to have been cast in the movie adaptation of "Hunger Games" -- which you should all read, because it is great.
But while a few names have been bandied about for the male lead, no one appears to have been cast yet -- which, naturally, is cause for much hand-wringing and rampant speculation.
Entertainment Weekly asked Robert Pattinson -- a teen franchise veteran, at this point -- what his take on the movie was. "It's good! It will be a good movie," he said. "I sort of came across it last year, and I didn't realize it was the most enormous thing in the year."
Pattinson then offered some insights about the potential perils to playing to such an ... intense fan base.
"The only horrible thing about being part of a franchise...well, not horrible...no, it is horrible...is
that the bigger and bigger you get, it's quite difficult to break out
of stuff. When you've been playing the same part, you can't suddenly
start playing it differently. It takes away a little bit of the creative
kind of ... urge."
"Sucker Punch" is a movie about a young girl who escapes into her imagination in order to escape the horrible reality of her life. (This horrible reality in itself not very realistic -- it involves the threat of lobotomy.)
So it was fitting that at the movie premiere this week, the film's stars dressed up in their finest gothic-wear. They look great!
Check out Vanessa Hudgens' flowing, gothic-glam frock at left -- and the rest of the cast after the jump!
We love sweet prom stories -- and as we get closer to the date, we'll be posting a lot of them over here.
But this one is a particularly lovely anecdote: Kansas City teenager Taran Carlisle enlisted his girlfriend's bosses (she was a shadow at Fox 4 in Missouri) to help him pop the big question. He posted his invitation on YouTube, and then the group came up with a ruse to have his lady, Shelby Brunk, watch the video -- while the cameras were rolling.
Watch her reaction below! Guaranteed it'll pretty much make your day. And kudos to Taran for having such ample stores of both courage and creativity.
If you're a Glee fan you know that this week was a particularly good one for Kurt on the show. (SPOILER ALERT!) The Dalton Warblers may not have won regionals, but he did get the guy. Now, he and fellow Warbler Blaine are headed to the prom. Are you excited to watch it? We, for one, can't wait to see what they wear -- not to mention what the young ladies on the show choose to wear to the big dance. Might we suggest some Tiza selections?
Speaking of which! Don't put your own dress selection off til the last minute!! Check out Tiza.com for the absolute first-tier selection in prom apparel (Sherri Hill included). Time is running out -- but it's not too late to guarantee looking your very best on prom night.
Perhaps most of you are familiar with the (very!) young woman Rebecca Black, who recently achieved a pretty intense level of fame with her endlessly mocked music video "Friday."
Black, who is just 13 years old, is an aspiring singer whose parents doled out $2,000 to have her "single" (which has comically simplistic lyrics -- but was also written by a 13-year-old!) produced by a semi-professional production company called ARK Factory. Now, the video is more viewed on YouTube hits than Lady Gaga's "Born This Way," at ... 26 million hits.
Am I the only one that feels a little bad for this girl? Sure, she might be a tad spoiled. But who at 13 didn't write and record crappy songs? I for one am just lucky my parents didn't have the means to pay for such an elaborate scheme as ARK Factory seems to be capitalizing on.
What do you guys think? Watch the video below if (by some highly unlikely chance) you have not already seen it.
Things are going pretty well for teen starlet Selena Gomez right now: she's enjoying a respected career as an actress, singer, and UNICEF Goodwill Ambassador -- not to mention the fact that she may or may not be dating Justin Bieber. (Disclaimer: we have no idea! Both young superstars are obviously wise beyond their years and have not commented on the situation.)
Doesn't Selena look gorgeous in her Sherri Hill dress (at left)?
If you love how she looks, check it out for yourself: Selena's wearing Sherri Hill style # 1403 -- which also happens to be a fun and flirty prom dress option.
We're just saying. You can take a look right here.
And watch Selena talking about Justin Bieber on Letterman below:
In his upcoming film "Water for Elephants," Robert Pattinson and Reese Witherspoon get entangled in a Depression-era love story set at ... the circus. It's an intriguing (if very un-Twilight) proposition. But does it suit him? Check out the clip below and tell us what you think!
We remember Alicia Witt fondly from her days on Cybill (umm, so maybe we're aging ourselves just a little?) but these days, the former child star is a full-blown triple-threat: she has successful careers in the movie, theater and music businesses. (Some of you may know her from a little show called "Friday Night Lights"?)
So we're thrilled to see Alicia looking gorgeous in Sherri Hill at a recent K-Swiss charity event.
We're also excited for her upcoming movie "Peep World" which, by the looks of its Wikipedia page, looks like a blast.
Did you catch SNL last night? Host Zach Galifianakis delivered one of the funnier monologues in recent history -- and a pretty awesome show all around.
But one of the night's highlights was the 22-year-old British pop sensation Jessie J. -- who was booked on the show without even having an album come out. (Which she tweeted about it right here.)
The bold young singer certainly didn't hold back -- either with her performances or ... her outfits? They were pretty wild. Check out one of her performances below and let us know what you think!
On Friday, as most of you are probably aware, a 9.0 magnitude earthquake hit Japan -- and triggered an enormous tsunami just nine minutes later. (An image of Japan after the wreckage, at left.)
A 9.0 magnitude earthquake is incredibly powerful -- and between that, the tsunami (which pretty much washed away entire neighborhoods) and the ensuing problems related to the country's nuclear power plants, Japan is really devastated right now. If you can, try to send a few dollars that way!
Check out this story for a helpful list of organizations that are making it super easy to donate a few bucks. (Even Apple has joined the effort -- ingeniously, through your own iTunes account.)
We officially have a new favorite on this season of American Idol: 18-year-old Illinois native Hailey Reinhart!
True, we have not yet seen much from the young woman -- but she rocked Sherri Hill's bandage dress (style #2532) during a performance on the show this week, so we know she must have stunning taste, not to mention generally good judgment.
Miley Cyrus showed she's game for a little self-mockery on last night's episode of Saturday Night Live, when she went head to head with her evil (or actually, rather innocent?) twin -- the show's Vanessa Bayer, whose hilarious take on the former Disney star has earned her a lot of attention this season.
But Miley didn't go on has herself, obviously. So who did she mock in her appearance on "The Miley Cyrus Show"? One word: Bieber.
Do you love Keeping up with the Kardashians? We do! In fact, we pretty much love anything Kardashian-related -- including (and especially) Kendall Jenner, one of the youngest sisters of the clan.
The fifteen-year-old Kendall -- who in addition to appearing on the Kardashian family's super popular E! show happens to be quite the up-and-coming young model -- showed off some Sherri Hill designs in a recent photo shoot.
(That's her looking stunning in Sherri Hill, at left.)
Get another sneak peek Kendall rocking the gorgeous Sherri Hill dress after the jump!
Did you love how Anne Hathaway looked no the red carpet at the Oscars on Sunday night? We did!! And guess what -- now you can recreate not one but two of Anne's looks from the evening.
Hathaway, along with James Franco the co-host of the 83rd annual awards ceremony, rocked an entire wardrobe of amazing gowns by designers like Valentino, Givenchy, Oscar de la Renta and Armani.
But you don't need to spend a fortune to mirror Hathaway's look: Check out Sherri Hill's red strapless gown (style 2309, pictured below, left) for an equally high-fashion dress at a tiny fraction of the price.
And check out Sherri Hill style #3733 (below right) -- all the glamour of Hathaway's Givenchy Haute Couture, but way, way more affordable.
This Sunday, Hollywood's biggest and brightest stars got all gussied up for the event of the year: The Academy Awards.
And even if the show itself was a little ... lackluster (let's just say one of the people I was watching with took a nap in the middle), the fashion didn't disappoint.
(Take the example at left: one of the evening's hosts, Anne Hathaway, in a stunning Valentino gown.)
Take a look at some of our favorite gowns of the night, after the jump.
