There are few people we would rather watch do a seven-minute interview in a closet than Kristen Wiig, the star of this summer's mega-hit "Bridesmaids" (not to mention SNL).
In the new web series "7 Minutes in Heaven with Mike O'Brien," we are treated to just that -- except, in the interest of staving off the inevitable boredom of an overly long interview, technically they are only in the closet for four minutes.
Watch the full video below. Let us know if you like it as much as we do.
Last week we told you all about model Flaviana Matata's foundation to help young Tanzanian women -- which, by the way, we think is incredibly inspiring and amazing.
This week, the gorgeous young Tanzanian woman is back on our radar -- and not just because she's wearing a Sherri Hill design!
(See Flaviana in Sherri Hill at left.)
Usher's New Look Foundation, which was established in 1999, certifies young people in four leadership pillars - talent, education, career and service - to help them on their roads to success as leaders throughout the world.
This year, the World Leadership conference took place in Atlanta, and Flaviana showed up to lend her support and encourage America's rising generation of young leaders.
Kudos to Flaviana - and everyone involved in the UNLF - for making a difference.
Check out behind-the-scenes footage of Hailee Steinfeld, the Oscar-nominated actress from "True Grit," as she poses for a photo shoot highlighting celebrities who make a difference.
Steinfeld, who is just 14, advocates for the No Kid Hungry Campaign. She urged her fans to take her message to social media platforms.
"If a bunch of kids are writing a status about No Kid Hungry, then everybody kind of knows about it," Hailee implored.
Modern Family's Sarah Hyland was at the shoot with Hailee. Hyland is involved with The Lopez Foundation, a charity for children on dialysis.
Watch the video below -- and see what you can do to make a difference.
Are you excited for Taylor Lautner's upcoming movie, "Abduction"? We were neither here nor there about the whole thing until we saw the film's trailer for the first time this week and... well, it looks pretty juicy.
Lautner plays a high school student who finds out -- via a spunky lady-friend played by Lily Collins -- that a missing person ad on the back of a milk carton features... his own face.
If you are following Comic-Con (which, somehow, we doubt that you are), you should know that Kristen Stewart made waves there this weekend during a joint appearance with her "Snow White and the Huntsman" castmates.
The beloved Twilight actress, onstage with co-star Charlize Theron, jokingly warned her fellow actors that she doesn't mess around.
"You better not mess with me because I take myself very seriously," Stewart quipped at the San Diego event.
Theron didn't take the bait: "You're going to be fine," she joked back. "I'm an Oscar winner, so we take work really seriously here. You'll be fine."
Seems like the crew is going to have plenty of fun on-set, too.
PS- What do you think of Kristen's look for the movie? We over here are kind of loving it.
Flaviana Matata, the gorgeous Tanzanian beauty queen and model, recently launched the Flaviana Matata Foundation -- a group aimed at helping underprivileged girls and women in Tanzania, the country where she was born and raised.
The foundation is also a tribute to Flaviana's mother, who was one of 800 people to die in a tragic 1996 ferry accident.
"I am here today not as Flaviana Matata but as a young person with a vision to stimulate a cause that I hold very dear," she said, according to AllAfrica.com. "It's been 15 years since my mother's passing and I miss her dearly. I am happy to say, I have been raised by my father and the community in general."
We think Flaviana's cause is one that's worth fighting for. And we're honored that Flaviana wore this sparkling Sherri Hill dress at the launch event.
Congrats to the brave young woman. We'll keep you posted as to what you can do to help the Flaviana Matata Foundation thrive!
Our love for designer Sherri Hill is well-documented on this site -- particularly because she's responsible for some of our favorite prom dress and pageant designs.
Clearly, we at Tiza weren't the only ones to get the memo on the designer's excellence: In this month's "Upscale Living" magazine, writer Lisa MacGuillian profiles Hill and shows off some of her best designs.
In the piece, MacGuillian does a Q&A with Sherri Hill -- whom she (rightfully) lauds as a "distinguished and respected fashion designer, whose expertise in special occasion dressing is filled with iconic design achievements for some of the world's most prestigious brands and fashion labels."
Check out the full interview right here. Congrats again to Sherri Hill!
Oh man, it is hot out there. In New York, temperatures are near-record breaking at 103 degrees. We can't even fathom how our Southern friends must be faring in this blistering heat. Needless to say, it's the perfect weather for seeing a movie. And "Captain America," the first film in what will ultimately be the big box office "Avengers" franchise, is capitalizing off of that traffic: The film raked in $26.6 million on its first day.
Still, superhero films aren't for everyone. The movie, a WWII-era action flick, is battling it out at the box office with the Justin Timberlake-Mila Kunis rom-com "Friends with Benefits."
Check out the Captain America trailer below. What do you think? Is it worth the $12.50?
Amy Winehouse, the troubled -- but enormously talented -- singer-songwriter, was found dead in her London apartment on Saturday, according to reports. She was 27.
The artist, who has long struggled with drugs and alcohol problems, was released from a rehabilitation center less than two months ago. The cause of her death is currently listed as "unexplained," according to CNN.
Whatever the cause of her untimely death, Winehouse will be sorely missed as an artist and performer.
Every year, it seems the Miss USA pageant is plagued by the eternal question: Should the swimsuit competition continue? Some wonder at the necessity of that particular part of the contest, and say it's objectifying women's bodies. Others think it's a tried-and-true part of pageant history, and that it's really not so big a deal.
Well, according to AsiaOne, Miss Singapore, which is a local franchise of the Miss World competition, may be eliminating its swimsuit competition -- or, at the very least, minimizing it. Earlier this year Miss World CEO Julia Morley criticized the pageant as "having a showgirl club image." Now Raymund Ooi, who manages Miss Singapore, is saying that the swimsuit portion of the contest will be cut altogether or pared down to a "quick walk-through."
What do you guys think about the swimsuit competition?
Have you seen the latest Harry Potter movie yet? If not, it looks like you might be the only one... According to USA Today, the eighth and final film in the enormously-popular franchise shattered weekend movie-going records this week, raking in $168.2 million in the first few days alone. The record beats "The Dark Knight," which featured Heath Ledger's Oscar-winning performance as the Joker -- released after his death -- in the latest Batman movie.
And this is just the beginning; the Potter movie will likely earn hundreds of millions more in the weeks and months to come.
Tim Briody, of boxoficeprophets.com, told USA Today the release of HP7 (part 2) was, in his opinion, "the biggest film event in many, many years."
"It's truly hard to guess where this will add up," he added.
For those of you who have seen the movie -- what did you think?
We loved Miss Teen USA 2010 Kamie Crawford - and though we know every pageant winner's reign has it's expiration date, we're already feeling nostalgic about Kamie's time as queen. Especially since Crawford, the beautiful young Maryland native, was a huge fan of Sherri Hill.
Therefore, as a tribute to the outgoing Miss Teen USA 2010, we're putting together some of her best Sherri Hill looks of the year -- starting with this gorgeous gown she rocked at the 2011 BET Awards.
Let's all give a huge congrats to Danielle Doty! The 18-year-old from
Harlingten, Texas, was crowned Miss Teen USA last night in the prestigious
competition.
The first runner up was North Dakota's Audra Mari; Alexis
Swanstrom of California, Taylor Clark of Kansas and Sydnee Stottlemyre of
Missouri rounded out the rest of the top five.
Sherri Hill was the
official gown sponsor for the event, and all of the girls looked absolutely
stunning.
Congrats to all the lovely ladies who participated! And congrats
again to Danielle - we can't wait to see what this year holds for you.
Rumor has it that Idina Menzel -- aka the Broadway superstar from the famed "Wicked!" -- will be heading back to "Glee" next fall, marking the most recent in a series of changes to the Glee cast for Season 3.
Menzel, who has appeared on the show in the past as Rachel Berry's biological mom, is said to be taking on an additional role this time around: as a teacher at William McKinley High School. Does this mean competition for Mr. Shue? I guess we'll have to wait and see. In the meantime, what do you think about Menzel's return to the show? Were you a fan the first time around?
For the record, some of us over here at Tiza love the Harry Potter franchise -- and particularly adore Emma Watson, who plays Hermione in the series.
So we can't say we were especially surprised that the fashionable young British actress showed up to Harry Potter 7 premiere looking stunning, but... we do think this look is hard to top.
What say you guys? Do you plan to see the film when it opens in the US next week?
We've talked about our love for American Idol runner-up Lauren Alaina before. But in this summer's American Idol tour -- in which the top eleven finalists from the show's tenth season travel the country together -- we're particularly enamored. Not only does Alaina look super cute performing her duet with Season 10 winner Scott McCreery -- but she's doing it in the awesome Sherri Hill style # 2750.
Did you guys see the performance? What do you think of the two?
Are you guys following the American Idol summer tour? We are... and not least of all because we love the fashion on the tour. Check out Thia Megia, a season 10 contestant, rocking Sherri Hill at the opening night of the tour...
Do you want to check out the look for yourself? You can buy it right here at Tiza.com.
Who is your favorite singer on the tour? Let us know in the comments!
Prince William and Duchess Catherine (nee Kate Middleton) are currently on their post-honeymoon, whirlwind Canadian tour.
The royal couple will apparently be in the country for nine days before taking a quick three-day trip to Los Angeles. (Kate has never been to the United States.)
At an appearance, Prince William spoke to crowds in French and gave self-deprecating apologies for his French accent. He also thanked the crowds for their warm welcome.
"I hope that we will have the chance to get to know each other over the years to come," he said.
It's safe to say that prom season is officially over. We hope you all had a great time - and that you're now relaxing by a pool somewhere. (Or that you're using your summer vacation doing something enlightening and/or adventurous.) But fall isn't too far off - and it's never too early to start thinking about your wardrobe for all of the autumnal celebrations. (Homecoming, cough cough.)
So head over to Tiza and check out our great dresses for the fall season! (Here's the link.)
And please leave us your feedback on the new designs in the comment section!
Happy hunting!
Word on the street is that Chord Overstreet, aka Sam Evans, won't be making his way back to "Glee" next season. Earlier, Overstreet tweeted cryptically (from the "Glee" tour!), "Well it's been a good year. Too bad its over. Time for summer and starting fresh."
Now, word on the street is that Ryan Murphy has apparently made the choice final. Incidentally, Darren Criss and Harry Shum, Jr have apparently been promoted to series regulars next season.
What do you guys think? Should Chord have been brought back for season 3?
Maryland native Kamie Crawford - aka Miss Teen USA - stunned at the BET Awards this week.
The 18-year-old beauty queen, who won the prestigious Miss Teen USA title at her first ever pageant competition in 2009, counts computers, technology, modeling, makeup artistry, and shopping among her interests. That's what we call well-rounded.
Doesn't Kamie look gorgeous in her sparkling Sherri Hill mini dress?
