Just weeks after he rented her a fancy car for the prom, Joe Jonas has broken up with Disney starlet Demi Lovato -- and just days after the breakup, he's talking to the press about it. "I realize over the time we have shared together that I feel I care more about our friendship right now. It was my choice to break up, but I love her as a friend. She's been there for me when I needed her," said Jonas, in an interview. Lovato, in the meantime, has clarified (via Twitter of course) that Jonas did not dump Lovato over the phone, a la Taylor Swift. Maybe he's trying to avoid being the subject of future mocking SNL monologues.  

Joe Jonas didn't take girlfriend Demi Lovato to the prom this year -- she already had a date! The 17-year-old Disney star went to the dance with her longtime childhood friend Nolan Nardecchia. But Jonas, not wanting to miss out on the experience completely, decided to rent Lovato a car instead.  Not bad, middle Jonas!
