![]() It's Miss Universe Ximena Navarrete and former Miss Universe Lupita Jones, in People Espanol's 50 Most Beautiful People issue this month! And guess what they're wearing? Breathtaking Sherri Hill dresses! Don't these two beautiful ladies look stunning? Go pick up a copy of the issue today! Felicidades, ladies!
Now that she's a bona fide international beauty queen, Ximena Navarrete -- aka the newly-crowned Miss Universe 2010 -- gets to do her round-the-world publicity tour, wherein she makes appearances everywhere from state fairs to late night talk shows, and touts her new position and the causes she plans to take up as a result. This week, her responsibilities included making a Top Ten List-delivering appearance on CBS's Late Night With David Letterman -- and we think she did a pretty stand-up job.
...Speaking of Miss Universe: Ximena Navarrete wasn't the only contestant to don Sherri Hill on the night of the competition; all of the contestants wore versions of her original bandage dress design in the semifinalist lineup -- and Miss Ireland, Miss Albania and Miss Ukraine all wore Sherri Hill in the evening gown portion of the night.

![]() Here's a sample of what she ate on one particular Saturday: "I had three hard-boiled eggs for breakfast. I only ate the egg whites, plus some strawberries and blueberries. For lunch, I had a spinach salad with vinaigrette at home. I marinated some salmon in olive oil, pepper, and lemon, and just put that in the pan and cooked it. I had a whey protein shake from a corner shop by my gym, and later I met my sister for dinner at Chom Chom. We had sushi, but I had the rolls with no rice. I got salmon, and a crab roll with no avocado. I had some cranberry juice. I got hungry later that night, so I had pineapples and strawberries for a snack." To me, this seems healthy, but pretty sparse. And yet, I appreciate that she was honest about why she ate what she did, and how she feels about food. It's rare to hear women speaking so candidly about their eating habits. What do you think?
Malika Menard, from Normandy, France was crowned Miss France 2010 this past weekend. The 22-year-old is a law student, it turns out!
![]() Congratulations to Miss Menard. She will now enter the running for Miss Universe 2010. Let the games begin. Miss Venezuela 2007, Dayana Mendoza, was crowned Miss Universe 2008 at the pageant in Nha Trang, Vietnam on July 13, 2008. The Venezuelan beauty queen was born on June 1, 1986 in Caracus, Venezuela. Early in her life, at the age of 15, Mendoza became independent and lived in many different countries without her parents and without the knowledge of the languages in those countries. She said her greatest accomplishment is that she succeeded in working with different cultures and learning from them. Mendoza is a model and signed with Elite Model Management in 2001, in Nice, France. She also works with companies such as Max Mara and Costume Nacional where she has modeled in nine different countries for Versace, Robert Cavalli and other fashion designers. She speaks 3 languages: Spanish, English and Italian. Mendoza is the fifth Venezuelan to win the Miss Universe title and is the first winner from the country since Alicia Muchado won in 1996. She was crowned with a tiara worth $120,000. Her prize package includes a year contract promoting Miss Universe, world travel and a New York City luxury apartment. She will also receive a $100,000 stipend for a two-year course at the New York Film Academy and be given free access to famous fashion houses and beauty parlors. Mendoza will spend the year traveling the world to lecture on humanitarian issues and to promote education regarding HIV/AIDS.
