Sherri Hill has just unveiled her 2010 Prom Dress Collection, and the looks, which involve all manners of florals, sheers, layers, and pastels, invoke a sort of Midsummer Night's Dream feeling: irreverent, but also romantic and a little bit dreamy. The dresses are flowy and tulle-laden, but also (most importantly) fun, and unique. Check them out here.

This weekend, TIZA introduces Alisha Hill prom dresses to our website. Hill -- the daughter of our favorite prominent prom and pageant dress designer Sherri Hill -- debuts her collection of 17 pieces, which range from the long and luxurious to the short and sassy to the fun and flirtatious. Hill's style has a soft, feminine, but also playful touch: she employs paisleys and leopard prints as much as pastels in her creations. (She also has a knack for the long, flowing, and ethereal.) Perfect for any prom or pageant. Check out her designs right here

Homecoming Style: Sirens calling

As most of you can probably attest, finding the perfect dress for any occasion is never easy. (Certainly not as easy as it looks, once achieved.) But sometimes, making a splash in the  ensemble that's Just Right can give you the confidence you need to make it through the beginning of the fall semester. That's why we're presenting you with a whole slew of inspirational styles (corresponding celeb icons included), to help you channel your inner royalty - Homecoming or otherwise.

First up: The Siren

megan_fox_200709_ap_beat.jpg

When it comes to dressing up, do you tend to favor all things plunging, hugging, slinking and accentuating? Perhaps bold (see: red) or sheer; backless or cut-out?** Is there a chance you admire the red-carpet tendencies of, say, Angelina Jolie or Megan Fox? If you find yourself answering mainly YES to these questions, go ahead and consider yourself a classic type A siren. Sirens (a mainstay of Greek mythology, FYI) are historically alluring; they're known for possessing a strange - almost mystical - seductive power that's nearly impossible to resist. Fashion-wise, that basically just means that you don't have to do a ton of work when it comes to getting dressed - your attitude and innate appeal will speak for itself. Bold colors and classic, curve-hugging cuts are all you'll need to make a dramatic entrance. Accessorizing is easy, too; keep it simple with elegant earrings or a necklace, and think minimalist when it comes to hair. (Sirens, after all, have often been portrayed as mermaids - and do you recall Ariel ever sporting any sort of elaborate updo?) Once you've hit those basic marks, your confidence will speak for itself. And what could possibly be better than that?

Quick fashion vocab quiz: what common accents are also called spangles, pailletes and diamantes in different parts of the world? Answer: that tiny shimmering dot that tends to stick in clumps of its own kind--the sequin.

Sequins have been a part of fashion history since the 13th century. Talk about timeless. A staple in the industry, sometimes seen as gaudy or retro, sequins have evolved with changing tastes of the times. One thing's for sure: the sequin will never die. So what's the next step for the ever-evolving sequin?

This season, the sequin will take a new role, a new shape, all in cutting edge arrangements. Expect to see solid color dresses accented with patterns of sequins--like funky blobs and polka dots across the chest or down the ribcage.

Don't expect any 90's shiny dotted floral bouquets where the corsage goes. Designers are utilizing the sequin, integrating the cheap little gems into ultra mod, vividly eccentric splashes of personal touch.

You'll see heavily sequined dresses that trail the eye down the body in distinct patterns--from neckline to hemline. Also, designers are using sequins in several shades of the same color family to create dreamy visual mirages.

Also, expect to see sequins popping out during the day. Not just on accessories. So for those who appreciate glitz and glam, go ahead and migrate towards the shiny things.

Two weddings in July, next weekend's black tie soiree--invitations are reaching record numbers. So will the heat this summer. Take these tips to stay cool and comfy and still look hot in an easily elegant, beautifully breezy dress from Tiza's smoking new summer line.

Sherri Hill 2111

First, ditch the hosiery. Duh. Avoid thick, chunky jewelry that weighs you down. Clear, simple stones and lightweight, translucent pieces are all the rage this season. Let your dress take the stage and stick with one fancy bracelet or ring.

Go light on makeup. Think sheer colors and glosses. Let your dress radiate--not the blush on your face. Sizzling heat is not excuse to show cleavage or belly. Show some skin--but in the right places. Go backless or bare a little more leg in a short cocktail dress. Sherri Hill 2101

Remember dark colors soak up heat. Think twice before wearing all black if an event is outside. If you want to wear a bold color, feel the flutter in weightless silk chiffon or less fabric. But don't wear white to a wedding. Your turn will come.

Comfort is key. When the temperature rises, a tight strap or a size too small is the last thing a girl wants to worry about. Bottom line: wear what makes you feel hot without the sweat.
