61996294.jpgIt's not always easy being different in high school  -- but Andrew Viveros, a transgender teen from Davies, Florida, is embracing her identity and trying to make a difference.

And her popularity certainly doesn't seem to be hurting as a result: the brave student at McFatter Technical High School was crowned prom queen earlier this spring.

"I am trying to do every interview I can," Viveros told the Sun-Sentinel in an interview. "I don't want to turn anyone down. Anyone might be watching or reading."

Viveros, who also goes as Andii, recently made a video for the "It Gets Better" campaign -- and since being crowned queen, she's set up a website encouraging young people to "Tell Me Your Story!"

"I want people to know there is someone they can talk to," she said.

"I love that my message is getting out there," she continued. "Everyone that has been bullied or taunted because they are different, I am proof that things get better. I want people to feel like they can be themselves."

Congrats to the amazing Andii!

You may not know Lindsey Wixson's name -- yet -- but if you've opened a  fashion magazine in the last couple months, you almost certainly have seen her face.

The 17-year-old Wichita, Kansas native is the latest small-town American teenager to break into the fashion industry's bigtime: In recent months Wixson has become one of the most in-demand models on the scene.

And while the 17-year-old supermodel surely enjoys some perks in her new life, that doesn't mean she wants to miss out on the joys of being a normal teenage girl. So she scored herself an invite to the prom -- and a custom-made Jason Wu prom dress to wear with it.

CNN followed Lindsay to the prom. Check out the video above!

We know you've been anxiously awaiting the "Glee" prom episode. (Don't try to deny it.) And while the show's cast and crew has so far kept fairly mum on details for the much anticipated episode, "Glee" star Lea Michele (who plays Rachel on the show) spilled just a little bit about some of the big show's details.

She also spoke a little about her own prom experience -- which she said paled in comparison with the show's big affair.

"This one was in the gym, mine was at some rooftop in New York City," Lea Michele said in a recent interview, of the 'Glee' prom vs. that of her own youth.

"I preferred this one so much more!" she added. "There were these balloons in the ceiling and they fell down while we were dancing and doing the final number, and I just really felt like anything that I didn't get to live out in my actual prom I really got to filming this episode."

Watch the interview above. Are you excited to see "Glee go to prom?"

We here at Tiza are sure none of you have put off buying a prom dress until this late in the game. (We speak from the perspective of pretty serious procrastinators, fyi.) But if you DID wait til the last minute, Saturday Night Live has the perfect example of where not to go shopping for a prom dress.

Are you guys excited to see the 'Prom' movie?

It basically looks like a triptych of stories -- think "Valentine's Day" or "He's just not that into you" -- that (obviously) all have to do with a group of kids preparing for their high school prom. (You can watch the trailer here.)

Naturally, because this is a movie about the prom, the stars turned out in their most glam dresses for the premiere last night.

Check out some of our favorite looks after the jump!

What not to do on prom night

Want to make sure you get great prom pictures on the big night? Make sure you arrange for a photographer (by which we mean, someone's parent!) before the big night.

But whatever you do, don't ask the limo driver to do it. Why not? Just ask the North Carolina teens who saw their limousine drive off into the sunset -- without them! -- when the limo driver got out to snap photos of the group.

Apparently, the kids asked the driver if he'd take a few pictures, so he stepped out of the town car and left his keys in the ignition. But before he was done capturing the moment, someone else had captured something else -- the car itself. The thief apparently showed off his new wheels to friends before abandoning it in a parking lot.

The limo was later found, and all the kids' possessions were recovered, but nevertheless: a word to the wise!

As you well know by this point, it's almost time for the prom.

Sure, there can be some anxiety-inducing moments associated with the prom -- did you get the right dress? Do you have a great date? Does it matter if your purse matches your wrap? -- but overall, you're in for a great night.

And a night that will likely live on for a long, long time -- in pictures, if not in memories.

We've compiled a few of our favorite ever celebrity prom pictures -- starting right here, with the Mrs. Michelle Obama herself. (And let's all just agree that she looks amazing. And sort of royal?)

Check out Britney, Courtney, and more right after the jump -- and learn for yourself the importance of getting your look for the night just right!
60560272.jpgLast week, we made the case that an 18-year-old Illinois high school woman -- or anyone, for that matter -- should be able to wear a tuxedo to the prom if she wanted to. The case that prompted the discussion was that of Proviso East High School senior Belinda Sanchez, an openly gay high school senior whose high school administrator told her she couldn't wear a tux to the prom.

Well, some happy news! Sanchez, an aspiring civil rights lawyer, brought the case to the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) and won! She can now wear what sounds like a pretty slick white tuxedo to the dance. Here's to hoping that in the future, all high schools will put aside their old-fashioned notions of sartorial gender norms, and encourage students to express themselves however they like.

In the meantime, Sanchez is just happy to have won out.

"I'm happy," she told the Chicago Tribune. "I didn't just stand up for myself. I did this for everyone who's in a position like I'm in."

"It's like a fairy tale gone totally fairy," she joked, laughin.
